Thiruvananthapuram: Local Self-Government Minister Paloli Mohammed Kutty has said that the State government has appealed to the Centre to include Kozhikode on the list of cities eligible for funding under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM).
During question hour in the Assembly, he told Pallipram Balan and others that moves were on to identify unsafe buildings in the State and those posing a threat to the occupants.
Squads constituted
He said local bodies had constituted squads for the purpose. The Minister informed Babu M. Palissery that the government had no plan to introduce a pension scheme for people\'s representatives to local bodies.
