Two labourers were killed while unloading a stack of large marble slabs

Two labourers were killed while unloading a stack of large marble slabs from a lorry at Vattappara on Tuesday morning. The police identified the deceased as Vikraman Nair, 40, and Ramachandran Nair, 45. They said the pile of marble fell on the workers while the unloading process was on. Both owed allegiance to the Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC). The police registered a case of unnatural death and investigations were on to find out the cause of the accident and whether there was any negligence involved. The bodies were handed over to relatives after a post-mortem examination at the medical college hospital here.
