NIA brings Nazeer to Kolenchery

KOCHI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) team, probing the Kozhikode twin blast case, on Saturday brought LeT operative Thadiyantavide Nazeer to Kolenchery for evidence collection.

Nazeer was taken to a residence of a quarry owner at Kizhakambalam and also at Pattimattam near Kolenchery from where he had reportedly sourced ammonium nitrate and detonators to trigger blasts at KSRTC bus stand and mofussil bus stand in Kozhikode on March 3, 2006.

National Investigation Agency sources said they had summoned the quarry owner to the police club in Kochi for collecting certain information.

We quizzed him for some time to ascertain certain facts. He has been directed to appear before us again on Monday, the sources added.

Later, the NIA team presented Nazeer before the NIA court in Kochi which remanded him again in judicial custody at Viyyur central jail.

Nazeer, who was in custody of the NIA team, was presented before the court after the team submitted that they were through with their evidence collection for the time being and would seek the custody of him if needed.
