Murder: identification parade this week

PALAKKAD: The Special Investigation Team inquiring the Puthur Sheela murder case will conduct a test identification parade of the two accused this week.

Karthiyayani, mother of Sheela, is the only witness in the case.

The investigating team had taken her statement after she was discharged from a hospital on Wednesday.

The police claimed that she had identified the photographs of three of the accused arrested in this case. But the first accused Sampath died in police custody on March 29 and an investigation by the Crime Branch Deputy Superintendent of Police K.K. Aji was going on.

Though the Crime Branch team had received the post mortem report of Sampath, it could not be examined in detail as the Dy.SP in charge of the case was away in Kannur to take evidence from the second and third accused now lodged in a jail there.
