Online system for issuing certificates

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An online system for issue of birth, death and marriage registration certificates from local bodies will come into effect on Thursday, a press note issued by Local Self-government Minister Paloli Mohammed Kutty has said.

With this, Kerala will become the first State in the country to have online facility for issuing birth, death and marriage certificates in every local body, Mr. Mohammed Kutty said in the statement.

In the first phase, birth and death certificates registered from the year 2006 and marriage certificates registered from 2008 onwards will be made available online. Registration data since 1970 of the Guruvayur municipality and Vellanad, Thalikulam and Thanaloor grama panchayats will also be available online.

The new system will enable online verification and printing of certificates, enabling people to make use of the facility from their homes
