THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Transport Minister Jose Thettayil announced in the Assembly on Tuesday that season tickets would be introduced in KSRTC buses across the State.
Replying to the debate on the demands for grants for Transport and Taxes on Vehicles, the Minister said that season tickets were already available on a pilot basis on the Kasaragod-Mangalore route.
The Minister added that the government would come out with a transport policy soon.
The proposed authority for fixing bus fares and freight charges would be formed shortly. (Future fare revisions will be decided by the authority).
He said that temporary employees working for the KSRTC for eight years would be confirmed if they had worked for not less than 120 days a year. The KSRTC had appointed more than 18800 persons over the past four years
