Rs.5-crore project for Kanjikode development

The State government has sanctioned a Rs.5-crore project for the modernisation and development of the Kanjikode Industrial Development Area in the district. The government has released a sum of Rs.3.5 crore and the remaining Rs.1.5 crore will be shared by industries in the area. An amount of Rs.4.67 crore will be spent for reconstruction of internal roads, providing side drains, for retaining walls and construction of two culverts. A sum of Rs.23.3 lakh has been sanctioned for providing street-lights; Rs.2 lakh for road maps and signboards; Rs.4 lakh for two arches and Rs.3.2 lakh for a bus waiting shed.Kanjikode Industries Forum president K. Pankajakshan, in a statement here yesterday , said the modernisation and development of the industrial area would go a long way in overall growth of this industrial town.
