IPL to be a boon to business environment

KOCHI: On the face of it, the city being allotted a team to play from the 2011 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) should be of interest to cricket fans alone. But give a closer look and it becomes clear that the team and its fortunes evoke interest far beyond the boundary lines.

�It is self-evident that it (the presence of a Kochi team in the IPL) presents the State with a great opportunity to tap into our tourism potential, V. Venu, Tourism Secretary, told The Hindu on Monday.
