THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Union Minister Shashi Tharoors involvement in the Kochi IPL team has raised eyebrows, and a number of questions.
Tharoor initially tried to distance himself from the Rendezvous consortium on the day it won the bid for the Kochi IPL team, but now he seems to be finalising things if his words are any pointer.
Tharoor said in Kochi that he was only a mentor or adviser to this consortium.
But the very next day, at a private function in Thiruvananthapuram, he said that the team was not just for Kochi but for the entire state and matches would be held in Thiruvananthapuram also. He went to the extent of saying that matches would be played in the to-be-built stadium in Kariavattom
