THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State government has approved a Rs.300-lakh food security scheme and a Rs.297-lakh integrated vegetable development scheme, Agriculture Minister Mullakkara Ratnakaran said here on Tuesday.
The State-level inauguration of the schemes will be held at Kadakkal in Kollam on May 27. The food security scheme involves growing vegetables as �third crop on 750 hectares of paddy fields. As much as Rs.15,000 per hectare will be given as assistance
