KOCHI: P.G. Viswambharan, noted Malayalam film director, died here on Wednesday early morning.
He was 60. Mr. Viswambharan was undergoing treatment at a private hospital here. He is survived by wife Meena, son Vinod, and daughter Vimi. People from various walks of life paid last respects to the filmmaker at �Viminas, his residence at Azad Road, Kaloor. Popular for his commercial movies that mapped various family-oriented themes, Mr. Viswambharan had directed more than 60 films during his career. He entered the Malayalam film industry through the movie, �Ozhukkinethire, in 1975. He gave actor Mammootty the launch pad in the industry through the movie, �Sphodanam.
