Development works get a push in Kannur



KANNUR: Various development works estimated to cost Rs.2.13 crore have got the administrative sanction of the District Collector.

The works that received the approval included road renovation, construction of buildings and compound walls utilising the local area development funds of MLAs and MPs.

While Rs.1,91,43,550 was mobilised from the MLAs local area development fund, contribution of Rs.22,43,264 would come from the MPs local area development fund.

The Patel Memorial Library at Patyam panchayat was sanctioned Rs.8.4 lakh from Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Mullappally Ramachandrans fund for constructing the first floor of the library building.

A project for setting up computer facility at KKV Memorial Higher Secondary School at Panur would be provided Rs.1,99,826.

An amount of Rs.2.5 lakh from the fund of K.E. Ismail, MP, would be sanctioned for a drinking water scheme at a Kurichya tribal colony at Pararinhal in Aralalm panchayat; Rs.53,438 from MP P.V. Abdul Wahabs fund for installing computer at Therlai Mappila A.U.P School; Rs.3 lakh for construction of Kummanam anganawadi at Keezhallur panchayat; and Rs.6 lakh for construction building at Government Mappila U.P. School at Chirakkal under the former MP A.P. Abdullakuttys fund.
