Govt warns \'knee-jerk\' reaction from Maoists following debacle

KOCHI:Rubber wood does not require pass for transporting and therefore no Porperty Mark Registration is required for transporting rubber wood and rubber wood products, according to Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, T M Manoharan.

Rubberwood is an exempted species under Rule 4(4) (a) of the Kerala Forest Produce Transit Rules 1975, he stated in a letter to his counterparts in other states.

Dealers in rubber wood and rubber wood products had complained that their consignments of rubber wood and its products such as packing cases sent from Kerala to Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra were retained in those states and fine imposed on them since it was not accompanied by Form IV passes issued by the holders of Property Mark Registration or by any pass issued by Government agencies, he said
