\'Jewel of Muscat\' crew visit school



KOCHI: The Captain and crew of the Jewel of Muscat, a wind powered vessel reconstructed on the lines of a 9th century trading vessel, Tuesday visited the Rajagiri Christu Jaynathi Public school here.

The members of the ship were given an insight into Keralas and Indias rich cultural heritage by the students who performed Thiruvathirakkali, Vallanmkalli, Punjabi dance, Dhandiya.

A Yoga demonstration was also held.

The 17 member crew, along with their captain Salah Ai Jabri, arrived here Monday after they embarked on their journey from Oman on Feb 16. They would also be visiting the INS Tarangini and visit the Naval museum.

A seminar to showcase the investment opportunities in Oman would be held here today. Oman Ambassador to India Humaid Ali Al-Maani will be among those participating.

After a few days of rest, the ship will leave for its onward journey to Sri Lanka, Malayasia and Singapore
