SSLC examinations to begin today

KOZHIKODE: As many as 44,536 students from the district will appear for the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations beginning Monday. Officials of the Education Department said preparations had been completed for the examinations. The examinations will begin at 1.45 p.m. on all days except Fridays and Sundays, which will be holidays. The examinations will conclude on March 27.Vadakara educational district will present the most number of 15,638 candidates. Kozhikode has 14,271 candidates and Thamarassery, 14,627. The district has 187 examination centresMJK Higher Secondary School, Elettil, in Thamarassery educational district is presenting the highest number of 815 students. Memunda Higher Secondary School in Vadakara educational district comes second with 743 students. The school with the lowest number of 18 students is Government Higher Secondary School, East Hill. Deputy Director of Education K.V. Vinod Babu said that in view of the hot weather, students would be allowed to take drinking water bottles into the examination halls.
