Muneer flays Left parties

KOCHI: Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) State secretary M.K. Muneer has accused the Left Democratic Front (LDF) of aligning with extremist forces with an eye on the vote bank.

Dr. Muneer was delivering the keynote address at a seminar on Anti-extremism, organised by the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) Vichar Vibhag, here on Saturday. He said the LDF had turned a blind eye to acts of extremism with the aim of gaining political mileage from such incidents.

Contrary to the belief of many, revolution has never been a part of Islam. This is a ploy of the Left parties to instigate violence in Kerala. Every Muslim should remember that he is also an Indian and more importantly, a part of mankind, he said. Kottayam District Congress Committee (DCC) president K.C. Joseph, MLA, alleged that the LDF encouraged its cadres to indulge in acts of violence.
