KOZHIKODE: One person drowned in rough sea as heavy rain continued to lash the district for the second day today inundating low lying areas, official sources here said.
TP Sunil Babu (40) drowned in the Arabian Sea while alighting from a boat at Puthiyangadi near here. His body was recovered this morning near the West Hill beach.
Seven fishing boats anchored in Beypore fishing harbour were swept away. One of them was seen floating in the sea which remained rough following torrential rains.
A total of 53 persons were shifted to the local Devaswom building as water entered into 20 houses at Kacheri village near here this morning.
