Forgery: police register case

Thiruvananthapuram: The Museum police have registered a case of forgery against a couple on the charge of fabricating the letter head of Union Minister of State for Railways E.Ahamed to facilitate the release of emergency quota seats on the Nagercoil-Kolkota Shalimar Express (Train no: 2659) on June 20.

Circle Inspector, Museum, J.K. Dinil, said the police registered the case against the suspects on the basis of a complaint filed by the Deputy Commercial Manager, Southern Railways, Palakkad.

The police suspect the forged letter was faxed from a BSNL telephone line in the city. The investigation into the case was at a premature stage, he said. No other person had been named as accused in the case so far.
