KOCHI: Citations have been given to police personnel who led investigations of a couple of major crimes in the Ernakulam Range.
B. Sandhya, Inspector General of Police, Ernakulam Range, presented the citations to K.G. Babukumar, Circle Inspector, Paravoor; T.V. Shibu, sub-inspector; K.K. Jose, ASI; head constables P.T. Joy, P.D. Jayakumar and T.A. Pius; for cracking the ripper-model murder committed in Varappuzha, and to R. Jayachandran Pilliai, circle inspector; P.S. Subramanian, sub-inspector; M.T. Kurian, head constable and constables Gopakumar and Vijayakumar, Kidangoor police, for arresting the accused in the murder of an old woman.
