PNB to focus on NoRKs segment

KOCHI: Punjab National Bank (PNB) Chairman and Managing Director K.R. Kamath has said that the bank is keen to expand its business in the State.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, he said the bank had plans to attract more deposits, particularly from non-resident Keralites.

The NRE deposits in Kerala constitute around seven per cent of the banks total NRE deposits. The bank is targeting business of Rs.1,000 crore from the non-resident segment in Kerala during the current year.

The number of NRE accounts in the State has crossed 36,400.

The bank has presence in all districts.

Its 140 branches in the State function under two circles, based in Ernakulam and Kozhikode.
