THRISSUR: Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar would inaugurate construction of Rs 30.24 crore fishing harbour project at nearby Chettuva on April 10.
Speaking to reporters here, T N Pratapan MLA that the Centre would bear 75 per cent of the cost, working out to Rs 22.68 crore and the balance by the state government.
He said the existing fish landing centre would be fully developed under the proposed project. With the completion of project in 2013, the sand belt at the estuary would be dredged and the canal depth would be increased, he said.
With the commissioning of the harbour, 3392 tons more fish could be netted, he said.
