Two arrested on murder charge

Thiruvananthapuram: The rural police have arrested two persons in connection with the murder of a youth, Abhilash, at Attingal last week.

A. Pramod Kumar, Circle Inspector, Attingal, said a gang fight between two groups of anti-social elements over the delay in repairing a cable television connection on the day of the inaugural match of the FIFA World Cup Football championship resulted in the murder.

The victim, Abhilash, is accused in several cases, including the murder of gang leader �Mottamoodu Ani at Karamana in 2007. He was released on bail from the Central Prison here in April.

Abhilash arrived at his brothers house at Chirayinkeezh along with some friends to view the television broadcast of the inaugural match. He was angered to learn that the cable connection was not working
