Documentary director Sharath Chandran dies falling from train

KOCHI: Two persons including Sharat Chandran, noted documentary director and a recipient of various national awards, died after falling from a train Wednesday night at Puthukkad in Thrissur. Sharat is a native of Thripunithura.

The other person has been identified as Sebastian (42), son of Joseph of Sulthan Bathery.

He is grandson of Prof M P Manmadhan, leader of anti-liquor organization and son of Dr Chandrasekharan Nair, retd Hindi Prof of M G College.

The two bodies were found between Irinjalakuda station and Puthukkad Station near Nellayi Kopra Bridge.

The two were traveling in the Guruvayur-Chennai Egmore Train. The other passengers pulled the chain when they saw the two falling from the train. After being informed, the police reached the spot and recovered the bodies. Both the bodies were taken to St James Hospital in Chalakudy Wednesday night itself.
