Four killed in separate accidents in state

THODUPUZHA: Four persons were killed in three separate accidents in the state.

In the first incident, a 24-year-old woman was killed when her shawl got stuck at the back wheel of the bike which her father-in-law was riding. She has been identified as Tisha James, wife of Joseph of Thodupuzha. She was an engineer of Technopark in the capital city. The incident happened early this morning while she was on her way to Thodupuzha bus stand to catch a bus to the capital city. Though she was taken to the hospital, her life could not be saved. Her husband Joseph is in Australia.

In the second incident, a woman and her grand daughter were killed and 11 injured when their vehicle collided with a parcel lorry in front of A J College on the national highway in Thonnakkal. The dead have been identified as Ramla and Shafy. The incident happened while they were going back to Kollam after picking Ramlas son from the airport.

A 64-year-old driver identified as J Sathyaseelan alias Maniyan (64) was killed when his lorry overturned at a quarry near Venjaramoodu. He leaves behind his wife Sumathy and children Ambady and Ambili
