Moratorium on fishermen\'s loan repayment extended

TPURAM: The state cabinet on Monday decided to extend by three months the moratorium on repayment of loans taken by fishermen from various co-operatives, Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan said.

The moratorium on loans announced earlier expired on May 2, VS told reporters after a cabinet meeting here.

The cabinet decided to approve in full the report of Justice Padmanabhan Committee appointed to revise the salary, pension and other benefits of judicial officers, subject to the endorsement of Supreme Court, he said.

Additional Chief Secretary Mohanty has been appointed as chairman of an expert committee to study the possibility of fixing milk price in accordance with production cost, he said.

The committee has been asked to submit the report within one month, he said.
