Sudheeran seeks judicial probe into Kinaloor incident

Kozhikode: Questioning the credibility of Industries Minister Elamaram Karim in obstinately pushing the four-lane road to the Kerala State Industries Development Corporation Growth Centre at Kinaloor in the district, senior Congress leader V.M. Sudheeran, on Friday, demanded a judicial inquiry into the incidents that led to the brutal violence against the democratically protesting people at Kinaloor on Thursday.

Speaking to mediapersons at the District Congress Committee (DCC) office here after visiting Kinaloor, Mr. Sudheeran said the insensitivity shown by Mr. Karim to the genuine concerns of the people who voiced their protest against the road expansion project was a serious mistake and never acceptable in a democratic society. I am totally convinced that some vested interest is involved in the whole deal, Mr. Sudheeran said, asking otherwise why is the Minister so obstinate and impatient in pushing for the road, completely overlooking the public protest.
