Thiruvananthapuram: Traffic restrictions will be enforced in the capital city from 12 noon on February 27 in view of Attukal Pongala tomorrow. Assistant Commissioner of Police, Traffic South, B. Varghese said restrictions will be enforced for vehicles within three-km radius of Attukal Devi Temple on February 28. Parking will not be permitted on Sunday on the Killipalam bund road. The Killipalam bund, Chirapalam, Iranimuttom, Chiramukku road has been designated Emergency route-I and Chiramukku, Medamukku, Chenkittavila, Valiyapalli, Kamaleswaram and Maharanikukku road, Emergency route-II.. Varghese said parking and offering of pongala will not be permitted on the emergency routes. Vehicles from Attakulangara, Maruthurkadavu, Kamaleswaram and West Fort will not be permitted to proceed to Attukal after 11 a.m. on February 27. Traffic has been banned from Attakulangara to Span Hospital, Manacaud, on the day.
