Thrissur: Members of the Karshaka Munnettam on Wednesday staged a dharna by crawling in front of the district collectorate in a symbolic protest against the government for allegedly neglecting the problems faced by the farmers of Muriyad.
The symbolic protest also included offering �Brahmi, a medicine to improve memory. �The authorities have forgotten Muriyad. Let the symbolic protest remind them of the problems there,� said Varghese Thoduparambil, chief organiser of Munnettam. The farmers have been fighting for long against indiscriminate sand mining in the kole lands of Muryiad.
