Two arrested with ganja

KALPETTA: Two persons were reportedly arrested with 7.060 kg of ganja at Thannitheru, near Pulppally, in the district early on Tuesday.



The arrested were identified as Thomas,alias Ganjavu Thomman, 58, of Theradi at Pachikkaramukku, near Pulppally; and Saddique Ali, 48, of Puthiyapura at Kattikkulam in the district.



Pulppally sub-inspector S. Sreekumar said the accused were arrested on the basis of tip-off. The accused told the police that they had procured the ganja from Bairakkuppa in Karnataka and they were transporting it to Sulthan Bathery. They were produced before a Kozhikode court.
