Kozhikode: A dialysis centre which will offer free treatment for the needy will be inaugurated at the CH Centre here on Friday.
Named after Indian Union Muslim Leagues late leader Panakkad Syed Mohammed Ali Shihab Thangal, the Rs.3-crore centre is equipped with nine dialysis machines that could be used in three shifts to enable up to 27 patients to undergo dialysis daily, centre convener M.A. Razak said here on Thursday.
The treatment centre is an initiative of the CH Centre which had been serving the needy for about nine years with support from the public, he said.
The centre, situated near the medical college, provides ambulance and volunteer services, medicines, food, etc to patients, he added.
IUML State president Panakkad Syed Hyder Ali Shihab Thangal, Union Minister of State for Railways E. Ahamed, IUML State general secretary P.K. Kunhalikutty and businessman M.A. Yusuf Ali are expected to attend the inaugural function
