PALAKKAD: Twenty two toddy shops in the Cherpulassery, Ottappalam and Kuzhalmannam ranges in the district were closed down on Thursday as per the directives of the Excise Commissioner. The commissioner had received a complaint about adulteration of toddy supplied in these shops. There were complaints that the toddy mixed with spirit was being sold, officials said.
