Kochi: A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court on Monday directed the State government to look into the sound pollution caused by fireworks, in consultation with the authorities under various departments, so that it could issue directions and guidelines to contain display of large-scale fireworks exceeding the permissible limits of sounds.
The Bench, comprising Justice Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan and Justice P.S. Gopinathan, passed the directive while disposing of a writ petition regarding the auction of Vedipazhipadu at the Kodungalloor temple.
The court had earlier ordered a fresh auction.
