KOZHIKODE: Having agreed to forge ties with the Indian Union Muslim League in the upcoming local body polls in Kerala, Indian National League (INL), an estranged ally of the ruling Left Front, Thursday said it would strive to hold talks with opposition United Democratic Front to firm up alliance ahead of future elections.
The INL for the moment has decided to adopt strategic policy with both the LDF and UDF partners in the local body polls while it would not initiate any talks with the LDF to forge electoral pacts, party State General Secretary P M A Salam, MLA, told a press conference here.
Refuting media reports that the INL was facing rift among the ranks and file against forging ties with the IUML, with which it had severed ties some 14 years back, Salam said the party had unanimously endorsed the moves to forge ties with the parent party.
