TPURAM: Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan Sunday hinted that government would move the High Court against the Central Administrative Tribunal order staying the suspension of IG Tomin Thachankary.
There are higher courts. The government is dealing with the matter in all its seriousness, Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan told reporters on the sidelines of a function here when asked about the CAT order.
Sources said the government was yet to receive a copy of the CAT order after which a decision on the next legal step would be taken.
Kerala government had suspended Thachankary, who was IG (North), on April 17 for travelling abroad without prior permission. On his appeal against the government order, the CAT had granted stay on April 23 and directed the government to reinstate him forthwith.
However, Thachankarys plea to reinstate him in the post he held was not allowed by the Tribunal in its interim order vacating the stay.
Meanwhile, CPI-M state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan termed as utterly baselss the reports that he had met Thachankary during his just concluded trip to the Gulf countries
