Kodiyeri withdraws from resort inauguration

PALAKKAD: Tourism Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Sunday withdrew from the inauguration of a resort built illegally in the midst of an adivasi colony of the Silent Valley.

An investigation on the resort constructed by private parties will be conducted. The minister said a detailed probe will be held on many things including whether it was built on special protected areas.

Forest Minister Binoy Viswom said action will be taken against the concerned after the getting the report of the CSF, who started investigation. The name of silent valley cannot be used for other business purposes
