VS justifies call for hartal on April 27

TPURAM: Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan Wednesday justified the Left parties call for a hartal in the state on April 27 to protest Centres failure to contain price rise of essential commodities.

The call for hartal is a protest against price rise that has made the life of people miserable, Achuthanandan, a veteran CPI-M leader, said when asked whether the hartal itself caused misery to people.

It is a protest by people to express their solidarity.

Only people who have money will ask questions like this that hartal call against price rise is a misery, he added.

CPI-M state secretariat has appealed to people to avoid train journey on April 27. The party has also asked people not to use private vehicles and urged business establishments to down shutters to express solidarity.
