KOZHIKODE: Ex-servicemen have threatened to boycott Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) telephones and its broadband connections in protest against the reported move to dismiss all ex-servicemen on the BSNL payroll.
Haridas Pulpatta, working president of the Indian National Trade Union Congress-led Kerala State Ex-servicemen Industrial Workers Confederation, alleged here on Tuesday that the dismissal of ex-servicemen was aimed at filling the vacancies with relatives of BSNL officials.
In just two years from 2007, the company had terminated the services of a large number of ex-servicemen. By the end of 2011, almost all of them would be fired, Mr. Pulpatta alleged in a statement.
