Kozhikode: With the Railway budget presentation scheduled for Wednesday, M.K. Raghavan, MP, has submitted a memorandum to Union Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee reminding her of the promise in the last budget to modernise facilities at the Kozhikode Railway Station and raise it to international standards.
In a press release from New Delhi, Mr. Raghavan said he had highlighted the need for more trains through Malabar, specifically through Kozhikode.
Prominent among the list of demands made by him was the starting of another Jan Shatabdi Express between Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram, starting from here in the morning. Mr. Raghavan also asked for a two-way intercity train between Kozhikode and Coimbatore and another one between Kozhikode and Mangalore.
