Kochi: A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court on Monday observed that judges who have free time and are willing can have a sitting on Saturdays provided advocates on both the sides offer to argue cases on that day.
The Bench comprising Justice C.N. Ramachandran Nair and Justice P.S. Gopinathan made this observation while disposing of a writ petition filed by High Court lawyer M.L. George.
The petitioner sought to enforce the reported decision of a Full Court of the High Court to hold a sitting on all Saturdays except second Saturdays. The Bench pointed out that a release issued by the Registry had stated that there was no such Full Court decision to hold a sitting on all Saturdays except second Saturdays.
