THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Members of the State unit of the Indian Association of Lawyers took out a march to the Assembly on Tuesday, demanding that the Advocates Welfare Fund Act be amended.
They demanded raising the medical assistance to advocates to Rs.2 lakh, payment of stipend to junior advocates for five years, re-inclusion of the provision for exempting junior lawyers from remitting their share to the fund for five years and giving freedom to the advocates to opt for the existing scheme or the new scheme with retrospective effect
