Engineering students develop all-terrain vehicle

Thiruvananthapuram: A group of mechanical engineering students of Marian Engineering College, Kazhakuttom, has built an all-terrain vehicle (ATV).

Known as quad bike or quad, the ATV travels on low pressure tyres with a seat that is straddled by the operator, along with handlebars for steering control. As the name implies, it is designed to handle a wide variety of terrains.

The ATV was designed by a team comprising Anand, Niyas, Prem, Saran and Vivek of the Mechanical Department in three months.

The sport model was built with performance rather than utility in mind, says Prem.
