Patients unhappy with Thalolam scheme

Kozhikode: Complaints are rife that children afflicted with chronic diseases like thalassemia, sickle cell anaemia and haemophilia are not getting full benefits of the State governments Thalolam free treatment scheme because of ambiguities in the government order concerned.

Thalolam scheme envisages free medicines and treatment for children with chronic diseases. The problems on account of vagueness in the government order have been brought to the attention of Health Minister P.K. Sreemathy in a memorandum by the Blood Patients Protection Council, which has been campaigning for improving facilities for treatment of blood-related disease.
