AKS to resist eviction of Adivasis

KALPETTA: Attempts by the district administration and the police to evict the tribal people from encroached land in different parts of Wayanad district will be resisted under the aegis of the Adivasi Kshema Samithi (AKS) with public support, K.C. Kunchiraman, AKS State secretary, and C.K. Saseendran, Bhoosamara Sahaya Samithi convener and Communist Party of India (Marxist) district secretary, told presspersons here on Wednesday.

They said the court that directed officials to evict those landless tribal people should say where to accommodate them.

They said the tribal people had encroached upon only illegally possessed land of big planters.
