Sri Sankara Jayanthi celebrations today

Nedumbassery: Jagadguru Sankaracharya Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji, chief of the Sringeri Math, will lead the Sri Sankara Jayanthi celebrations on Tuesday at Sree Adi Sankara Janmabhoomi Temple on the banks of the Periyar in Kalady, the birthplace of Adi Sankara.

A large number of devotees are expected to visit the temple on �Vishaka Shukla Panchami day to take part in the event. The State government will observe the occasion as �Philosophers Day. In his message on Sree Sankara Jayanthi, the Swami described the contributions of Adi Sankara to the world as incomparable. He said the most important advice of Adi Sankara was the need to uphold universal brotherhood to lead a peaceful life.
