Tributes paid to Bharat Gopi

KOCHI: It is not every day that retrospectives are organised for actors, as the role of an actor in a film is not properly analysed here, said actor Nedumudi Venu here on Friday.

He was delivering the commemorative lecture on Bharat Gopi, at the valedictory session of Mayfest Bharat Gopi retrospective film festival. The five-day festival was organised by Traya in association with C-Hed of Kochi Corporation and Kerala Chalachitra Academy at Town Hall here.

Gopi was one of the rare actors who could employ stylisation in film acting, where realistic acting is demanded almost always and excelled in such situations as in the film Panchavadippalam. Ahead of the valedictory session, the short film Kelkunnundo? (Are you listening?), directed by Geetu Mohandas was screened, followed by an interaction with the filmmaker
