Thiruvananthapuram: Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said here on Wednesday that the government would introduce advanced life-saving ambulances in all districts to handle medical emergency and ensure speedy assistance for road accident victims.
He was delivering the inaugural address at the Central Stadium to flag off a fleet of 25 ambulances under the Kerala Emergency Medical Services Project (KEMP).
The Minister said the vehicles would be manned by trained medical staff and equipped with emergency medical care facilities and life support systems.
The delay in reaching accident site and providing medical care often erupts into a law and order problem. The ambulance service is designed to ensure speedy medical assistance and thereby avoid such incidents, Mr. Balakrishnan said,
