Bid to promote adventure tourism

Thiruvananthapuram: As many as 50 school and college students, including 20 girls, will undertake a 22-day journey across the State to assess the condition of the rivers flowing through Kerala and explore the possibility of developing river- based adventure sports.

The programme is named �River Basin Adventure Expo-2010 and it will set off from Thiruvananthapuram on July 15.

Organised by the Kerala State Youth Welfare Board and the Academy for Mountaineering and Adventure Sports, Neyyatinkara, the journey involves the study of river basins and their environment.

The team will travel through the wooded areas of the Western Ghats to reach Manjeswaram.
