Girls fare better in B.Tech. exams

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Girl students cornered the majority of the first ranks in the eighth semester B.Tech. examinations of the University of Kerala, the results of which were published here on Saturday.

Of the 12 first ranks in various branches of engineering, seven were bagged by girls. Applications for revaluation and scrutiny can be submitted till August 7. The results can be accessed on the university web site www.keralauniversity.ac.in.

The first rank for civil engineering went to A.Ajeena of the Marian College of Engineering and Technology, Kazhakkuttom. The first rank in mechanical engineering went to Vaisag Raghavan of the College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram.

The top rank in Mechanical-production engineering was bagged by P. Vishnu Kumar of SCT College of Engineering, Pappanamcode while the top rank in Mechanical-Automobile engineering went to S.L. Arunkumar, also of SCT College. In Mechanical-Industrial engineering, the first rank went to G.V. Sreenath of the College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram. The first rank in Chemical engineering went to S. Sujeesh of TKM College of Engineering, Kollam.

The top rank in Biotechnology and Bio-chemical Engineering went to S. Siddhi of SCT College, while the first rank in Electrical and Electronics Engineering went to L. Parvathy of the TKM College of Engineering, Kollam.
