MALAPPURAM: The Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Kinfra) has begun work on an industrial park at Kuttippuram in the district. Industries Minister Elamaram Karim laid the foundation stone for the Kinfra Park on Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) campus at Kuttippuram on Sunday afternoon.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Karim said construction of the park would be completed within a year.
He said the Kerala State Detergent and Chemicals (KSDC) factory, which has remained closed for many years on the KSIDC campus, would be revived.
It will be handed over after seeking an expression of interest, he said Local Administration Minister Paloli Mohammed Kutty laid the foundation stone for a standard design factory being set up at the Park. K.T. Jaleel, MLA, presided over the function. S. Ramnath, managing director of Kinfra, welcomed the gathering. Additional District Magistrate P. Abdul Rahman, and V.K.C. Mammed Koya, Kerala State Small Industries Association president, spoke.
