THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister for Local Self-Government Paloli Mohammed Kutty said on Monday that the birth and death certificates, issued by local self-governments, would soon be made available online.
The Minister was replying to a debate on the demands for grants for Urban Development, Panchayat and Community Development in the Assembly.
Mr. Mohamed Kutty noted that the procedure for registration of deaths and births had already been simplified.
He also announced that the system for disbursement of welfare funds through the local bodies would be computerised. A software system, Sugama, would be introduced to handle data related to engineering works
